Learning Communities at Faith Church

Beginning August 22nd, 2010

Learning Communities are mid-sized groups (15-30 people) where people develop relationships in a warm and casual environment. Weekly meetings at 9:30 a.m. include fellowship, coffee and refreshments. Expect a time of announcements, prayer and usually lots of laughter!  Interactive Bible teaching is also a core element of weekly group meetings.  Periodic social activities, service projects and outreaches provide opportunities to show the love of Christ in practical ways.

Learning Communities are a great place to meet kindred spirits with whom you might want to connect to do further and more in depth activities. In short, we Learn to be a Community!

The Berean Group
Rob Mead
Location: Room 5
The Berean Group will be studying the books of 1st, 2nd and 3rd John through November 14th. The overarching theme of these books is love - both God's love for us as well as love within the church. From November 21st through December 19th, the group will do an advent study of the Old Testament prophecies about the coming Messiah.

Psalms & Doctrines of the Church
Stuart Prigge & Jerry Brenden
(The Grasshoppers)
Location: Room 7
Until Stu comes back from Africa, this group will be studying the Psalms and how it pertains to our lives today. Then...

Do you have a hunger for a greater understanding of the basic doctrines of the church? Can you explain to a new or even seasoned believer what you believe and why? We will be looking at the Inerrancy of Scripture, the Existence and Knowledge of God, the Atonement, Resurrection and Ascension and the work of the Holy Spirit, Election and Regeneration, Justification and Adoption, and how we are to grow in Christ, among others. Come and discover these wonderful truths of God's Word.

Genesis
Peter Weirich & Steve Burge
(The Role - Aids)
Location: Room 8 West Campus
The Role-aids have been meeting together for 6 years now, and have seen God use the relationships built in studying, serving and sharing with each other in a variety of ways. We'll be looking at the practical living model that James gives us in Christ Jesus and we'll continue in the book of Genesis as Steve Burge brings us more of the foundation of our faith. Serving together in projects like Joy Junction, the Great Give Away and in Fellowship dinners have helped to bond this group in Christ's love.

1st and 2nd Peter, Jude
Mark Elkin
(The Salt shakers)
Location: Room 7 West Campus
Come join the fellowship, studying God's Word as we work our way through 1st and 2nd Peter and the book of Jude. It is always a blessing to do the "one anothers" in a smaller group. So come and be an encouragement to all as we grow in the knowledge of the Word, and grow in love for each other!.
